IPC Hand Soldering Competition – Germany
At the IPC Hand Soldering Competition during productronica, participants are given 60 minutes to assemble a complex printed circuit board by hand. First, the regional qualifying round for Germany takes place, and then 20 soldering experts from around the world compete for the title of World Hand Soldering Champion.
The Competition
Highly qualified technicians are needed to manually solder high-density printed circuit boards. This ensures flawless soldering and guarantees the reliability of the entire assembly.
Competitors will have 60 minutes to assemble a complex printed circuit board and will be judged by IPC Master Instructors (MIT) in accordance with IPC-A-610 Class 3 criteria. Each competitor (PCBA) will be inspected and rated according to the overall quality of the results achieved, based on:
- The quality of the assembly process.
- The overall electrical functionality of the assembly.
- The speed at which the assembly was produced.
