Biography
I received my PhD in Science and Engineering of Materials from the University of Padova in 2009. Since 2012 I am permanent researcher at the Institute for the Study of Nanostructured Materials (ISMN) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). Currently, I am Research Director at CNR-ISMN in Bologna and there I coordinate the activities of the Organic and Hybrid Optoelectronics research group. I am the Coordinator of the H2020-EU-ICT Innovation Action MOLOKO and Research and Innovation h-ALO projects that aim at the manufacturing, implementation and validation of automatic miniaturized integrated photonic sensors to be used as analytical instrumentation for fast-response on-site monitoring of pollutants and quality parameters in food-chains. I am author of more than 80 scientific peer-reviewed papers and of 4 international patents on organic electronics and biophotonics. The fields of interest of my scientific and R&D activities are: (i) the study of multifunctional nanostructured organic and hybrid materials for their implementation in advanced optoelectronic devices (ii) the engineering and integration of optoelectronic and photonic components in smart systems for biodiagnostics and sensing.
