For a long period of time, megatrends like autonomous driving and e-mobility have been changing the technologies implemented within the automotive. In fact, there has been an increasing demand for smart surface solutions, like flexible sensors, heating elements as well as touch and touchless interfaces.
These applications play a crucial role to the automotive industry as they help to enhance vehicle performance and passenger comfort by ensuring vehicle safety, comfort, connectivity as well as fuel & energy efficiency. Next to improving the sensor itself product engineers demand
- increased design freedom,
- less weight for decreased energy consumptions
- and the possibility to combine sensing components, e.g.  heating elements for improved battery management
Henkel offers multiple printed electronics solutions for the creation of smart automotive surface solutions. One of the most recent printed electronics material innovations are a range of Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) inks, suitable for the creation of flexible, self-regulating PTC heating elements.
Throughout this presentation Henkel will introduce latest PTC technology developments for battery heating, interior comfort heating as well as ADAS related heating elements.
