The COPT Center is a Technology Transfer Center for organic and printed electronics based in Cologne, Germany. The main objective of COPT is to bring the innovative academic knowledge into industrial application, advancing technology from lab-level to prototype level. Most activities target the markets: automotive, internet of things, sports/health and energy.
Living in a time of fast changes and which requires quick and effective actions, to include as a standard step in process development the sustainability aspects, is just what naturally needs to be done. From a whole life-cycle analysis to single individual choices, there can be many solutions which helps to bring to the market consciously and sustainably made products, from materials sourcing to end-of-life management. Some practical examples will be presented.
