Battery Management Systems (BMS) play an essential role in monitoring, protecting, and maintaining the reliability of battery packs for electric vehicles.
Many parameters come into play when managing a battery pack, such as temperature, voltage, pressure, current, etc. To work properly and safely, the Battery Management Systems count on their peripheral sensors and actuators. This is where IEE comes into play, offering reliable sensing and heating solution which improve the safety and performance of battery packs. With the electrification moving into multiple markets - from electric vehicles to industrial applications, and from micro-mobility to power tools - an increasing number of applications need tailored solutions.
At IEE, we optimize components for BMSs with our customers. Together we make battery packs more reliable, more efficient and easier to assemble. With 30 years’ experience of working with international automotive OEMs and over 400 million vehicles equipped worldwide, our innovative solutions allow for exceptional, lightweight design, robustness and ease of integration.
Thin, flat, compact and easy to handle when assembling the battery pack, our solutions are built on flexible and very thin polymer foil. They are fail-safe and reliable, offering high adaptability to various applications thanks to the flexible design and different connection technologies.
Battery Safety Sensors detect and help predicting critical situations in battery packs early, such as Thermal runaway or degrading State-of-Health. They enable compliance with existing and upcoming safety regulations, such as UN-ECE GTR20/R100 and GB 38031.
Other BMS-products include temperature sensors, reporting precise knowledge of temperature distribution inside a battery pack, and fail-safe battery heaters, delivering the right amount of heat exactly where it is needed.
