productronica 2009, which was held at the New Munich Trade Fair Center from November 10 to 13, 2009, has been certified with the TÜV Service tested “Good” seal of approval. The test result achieved by the previous event was therefore confirmed. productronica was tested by TÜV Saarland for the first time in 2007. However, since TÜV evaluates the service level on a long-term basis, control surveys are carried out continuously among visitors and exhibitors. The mark “Good” therefore reflects the continuing high quality of the trade fair. The TÜV certification makes productronica clearly stand out against other events. It is the only trade fair in Germany and throughout the world to have been evaluated and awarded the TÜV Service tested seal of approval. The award is both an honor and an incentive for Exhibition Director Christian Rocke: “The result is affirmation of our overall concept. We want to continue and extend this strategy in future in order to make sure that both our exhibitors and visitors are totally satisfied with our exhibition program and that we can fully support them in this case to attain their main objective, i.e. their business success.”

Trade fair survey extended
TNS Infratest, an independent market research institute, questioned a total of 938 persons during productronica 2009. 20 additional special questions for TÜV certification were included in the trade fair survey commissioned by Messe München. The five most important general criteria were as follows: completeness and breadth of the exhibition program, leading trade fair character, supporting program/talks/events, clarity of the exhibition program/industry division and presence of market leaders. Questions were also asked regarding service criteria such as accessibility of the New Munich Trade Fair Center by public transport, parking facilities on the trade fairgrounds, quality of information and advice provided by staff on the exhibition stands or clarity of the hall plans/exhibitor directory.

Successful certification: TÜV Service tested seal of approval with the grade “Good”
productronica 2009 was successfully certified based on the survey results. The interviewees awarded the mark 2.1 for their overall satisfaction with the trade fair. The conditions for certification were also fulfilled by the five most important criteria in the survey. The completeness and breadth of the exhibition program were rated, for example, by 89% of visitors as “excellent to good”. 85% of visitors also awarded these marks for the leading trade fair character of productronica and the presence of market leaders. 86% of interviewees rated the internationality of exhibitors as “excellent to good”.

The service criteria also came off well. 94% of interviewees rated the quality of information and advice provided by staff on the exhibition stands as “excellent to good”. The interviewees were also extremely satisfied as regards the handling of concerns and complaints. 93% of the survey participants awarded the marks “excellent to good” for the handling of concerns. The corresponding figure for the handling of complaints was 87%.

Satisfied customers coming back again
It was not surprising that 81% of visitors believed that productronica has an advantage over other trade fairs. The advantage was very large or large for 6.9% and 34% of visitors respectively.

71% of visitors said they would definitely or probably come back again to productronica. 79% said they would definitely or probably recommend business associates or acquaintances to attend the trade fair.

productronica 2009 was held at the New Munich Trade Fair Center from November 10 to 13, 2009. A total of 1,126 exhibitors from Germany and other countries presented products and system solutions relating to the entire value-added chain in electronics production. Over 28,500 international visitors attended the trade fair.
